UCSF Student Shannon Chan (Class of 2019) received the Best Poster Prize at WGEA 2019 this past March for the poster titled, "Understanding the Role of Residents as Teachers within Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship Program." Working with Patricia O'Sullivan, EdD in the CFE, and Leslie Sheu, MD, from the Department of Medicine, Chan's research looked at the role of residents as teachers in longitudinal clerkships. Chan's work highlighted that creating greater opportunities for residents and LIC students to work together can improve the LIC learning experience, improve patient care, and promote specialties and residency programs.
