The University of California, San Francisco Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) offers educational opportunities for physicians, advanced practice professionals, pharmacists, dentists, and allied health care professionals to improve their practices through a comprehensive selection of continuing education activities.
In support of improving patient care, the University of California, San Francisco is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The School of Medicine Office of CME is pleased to announce that The University of California, San Francisco has been reviewed by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education™ and awarded Accreditation for four years as a provider of interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) by and for the healthcare team. Joint Accreditation ensures that continuing education for healthcare teams serves the needs of patients and the public, and is designed to be independent, free from commercial bias, based on valid content, relevant, and effective in improving the quality and safety of care delivered by the team.
In addition, Joint Accreditation affords us the ability to award continuing education credit to a variety of health care professionals using a single, unified process and set of requirements. Look for future announcements about when new accreditations are available.
