Educator Clinics

What is it:  Educator clinics are for faculty who want to develop in-depth skills in one particular area.

Who is it for: Faculty who teach and supervise learners.

What to expect:  These sessions are typically 3-4 hours, in-person or on zoom, and some have prerequisites for prior faculty development.  Dates will be added on an ongoing basis so check back frequently. CME credit available.

How to register: 

  1. Click session titles and click Register.
  2. Click Continue to login with your MyAccess credentials. If you're already logged in, skip to next step.
  3. Click Enroll me button.
  4. Once Enrolled, choose an available date to complete registration. 
Creating Digitally Accessible Resources

This 3-hour hands-on workshop is designed to provide faculty and staff with baseline understanding of digital accessibility requirements and provide them with basic skills to create learning materials that meet WCAG 2.1 A & AA standards across platforms and applications. The session will begin with a brief overview of ableism, disability in higher education, and resulting legislation. Participants will then learn to apply foundational digital accessibility practices in real time using built-in and third-party tools.

Target Audience: This session is open to faculty and staff.

Developing the Faculty Developer for Educators

Join us for Developing the Faculty Developer for Educators, a two-hour interactive in-person workshop designed to strengthen your skills in designing and facilitating effective educational faculty development. Whether you're already involved in education-focused faculty development or looking to get started, this session offers the opportunity to learn with and from peers across UCSF. The session will start with a brief review of key theories and recent literature, then shift to practical strategies for designing impactful faculty development before delving into common challenges encountered in facilitating workshops. This session is open to anyone currently involved in faculty development as well as those who would like to get involved.

Target Audience: This session is open to anyone currently involved in faculty development as well as those who would like to get involved. Prior participation in workshops/certificates offered by the Center for Faculty Educators (e.g. Essential Educators) is highly recommended.

Educator's Portfolio

In this workshop, members of the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators demonstrate the use of an educator’s portfolio to document evidence of the quantity, quality, and scholarly contributions of educator activities. As a supplement the traditional CV, the educator’s portfolio can benefit UCSF educators in securing academic advancements as well as strengthening their applications to the Academy of Medical Educators. During the last hour, representatives of the School of Medicine Academic Affairs office will present general information about successful academic advancement.
