The faculty development activities below take place either in person or on-line. Click on the links to learn more and register - a UCSF MyAccess account is required. If you don’t have a MyAccess account but teach or supervisor UCSF learners, check with the school or program you teach for whether you qualify to become a Volunteer Clinical Professor.

Core Teaching Skills Workshops 
Core Teaching Skills Workshops are for faculty who teach and supervise learners to develop basic skills in a variety of areas. These sessions are typically 1 hour, in-person or on zoom.  CME credit available.

Core Teaching Skills Workshop topics include: Small group teaching, Large group teaching, In-the-moment feedback, Written evaluations, Mitigating microaggressions/stereotype threat, Creating a learning climate that promotes inclusion and belonging, and more to come!

Educator Clinics 
Educator clinics are for faculty who want to develop in-depth skills in one particular area.  These sessions are typically 3-4 hours, in-person or on zoom, and some have prerequisites for prior faculty development.

Teach for UCSF Certificate Program
The Teach for UCSF Certificate Program targets faculty for whom education is a major part of their career, and offers them the opportunity to gain in-depth understanding and essential skills as health professional educators and build a network with other educators through day-long in-person sessions. Most certificates consist of 2-3 parts with several offerings during the academic year, enabling participants to complete the program within 1-2 years.

Research and Scholarship Related Activities Offered by CFE

Med Ed Grand Rounds
Short, up-to-the-minute lectures focused on education research, often with visiting scholars. 

ESCape - Education Scholarship Conference 
ESCape is a weekly lunchtime “brown bag” group scholarship consultation session that provides the opportunity to consult with education researchers and other colleagues in a friendly group setting.

EJE - Equity and Justice in Education (EJE) 
Pronounced (“edge”), the EJE meetings empower educators, educational researchers, and learners to utilize rigorous educational research methodology to identify bias and unequal power distribution to advance equitable and inclusive solutions in opportunity and achievement across the continuum of health sciences education.
