About Us

OCME Team

The University of California, San Francisco Office of Continuing Medical Education offers educational opportunities for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, and allied health care professionals to improve their practices through a comprehensive selection of continuing education activities.

We provide over 200 CME activities in most medical specialties serving over 35,000 participants annually.

UCSF is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. In 2011, UCSF received the ACCME's highest level of accreditation, Accreditation with Commendation.

Mission Statement

The University of California, San Francisco Continuing Education Program provides lifelong learning opportunities that aim to increase competence, enhance clinician and healthcare team performance, and improve the health of patients. UCSF achieves this mission by providing ongoing development and delivery of live activities, regularly scheduled series, and on-demand internet-based learning. The UCSF Continuing Education program is committed to providing activities that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and the knowledge and skill of health care professionals and healthcare teams in clinical care, research, and public health. These goals are integral to UCSF's overall mission of advancing health worldwide.

Expected results of the program

The expected results of the UCSF CE program are to improve the competence and performance of our learners, our healthcare teams, and the clinical outcomes of the patients whom they serve. The program is systematically reviewed to determine the extent to which these expected results have been achieved.
