For those of us planning on studying for and taking Step 1 outside of the bay area, if we defer getting the vaccine in the first invitation is there any way to guarantee that we will be able to be prioritized when we return in early March?

I’m confused by the recommendation that students return to SF ~10 days before starting a clinical rotation AND the note that clinical rotations are exempted from the quarantine. Which is true?

What is the earliest rising MS3s (Class of 2023) will be getting notified for vaccinations? Dean Davis made it sound like it will be over the break (before Jan 4th) but that seems unlikely given many critical/frontline providers have yet to be called in.

For F2 students, do we need to return to the “Bay Area” or “SF” specifically for early January? For example, if my home is San Jose and I stay there from now until early Jan, can I stay there 1/4-1/8, or will I have to be in SF from 1/4-1/8? Will there be an in-person activities 1/4-1/8 like covid testing specifically on campus?

I read through the SFDPH mandate about the 10-day quarantine, and it seemed like if we have left prior to the 10-day quarantine mandate (top of page 6 under point “4”), then it doesn’t apply to us? Can someone provide clarity or confirmation on this?

It seems as though there is NO enforcement of any of the shelter in place or quarantine orders, and the public has proven they don’t follow these guidelines (as evidenced by thanksgiving travel). Are any of the deans talking with Governor Newsom about enforcing these SIP or quarantine orders on behalf of providers, students, and the public at large?

Is it still the case that students aren’t allowed to see people who do not have negative COVID test? Are all clerkships sites aware of this so we don’t feel weird when we remind them?

Which phase will I be in if my research requires patient contact? Is this different if your research is at an affiliated site (e.g. SFVA)?

If we are on LOA but intend to do clinical volunteering, can we be included in the Phase 1A vaccination?

Can we clarify that students on LOA (research, MPH, etc) are grouped with Phase 1a or Phase 3?
