Teaching development programs are offered at no charge to VCP through the CFE. These are opportunities for faculty development, networking, and free CME credit.

Faculty Development 
The Center for Faculty Educators offers a variety of faculty development offerings to help those who teach and supervise learners improve their educator skills and promote supportive, inclusive learning environments. Click on the links below to learn more. Workshops carry CME credit at no charge.

  • HPE Grand Rounds (MyAccess Login Required)
  • Teach for UCSF Certificate Program
    The Teach for UCSF Certificate Program offers faculty the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding and essential skills as health professional educators and build a network with other educators through in-person sessions. The Certificate Program primarily targets UCSF faculty, including volunteer clinical professors, for whom education is a major part of their career. Certificates are offered as day-long sessions, and most certificates consist of 2-3 parts and include an experiential activity to apply learned skills at certificate completion. CME credit is available.
  • Teaching Scholars Program (TSP)
    A yearlong weekly seminar that develops education leaders and scholars through an intensive seminar series, mentored projects, a network of educational colleagues, and collaborative learning.
  • TOP: Teaching Observation Program
    A voluntary peer mentorship program for faculty of all levels, facilitating observation of teaching followed by a feedback session.
  • Center for Innovation in Interprofessional Education
  • CME Vouchers
    UCSF Office of Continuing Medical Education provides a voucher for one free UCSF CME course/conference per year, subject to space availability and other restrictions. Vouchers are available for courses/conferences that do not require travel. In order to receive a voucher for the free offering VCP must:
    • Hold a current faculty appointment
    • Have completed a minimum of 50 hours of teaching students or residents in the given year for the UCSF School of Medicine
    • Complete an online CME Voucher Request survey.
    • After completing the online request, you will receive instructions on how to register once your eligibility is confirmed.
