Numbers of Educational Events and Clinician Interactions Reach Ten-Year High
A new report from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) highlights the continued growth of the continuing medical education (CME) arena in 2017. The "ACCME Data Report: Growth and Diversity in Continuing Medical Education-2017" reveals that the number of educational events rose 3 percent from 2016, while the number of hours of instruction and interactions with healthcare professionals each increased by 4 percent. Overall, the data reflect record numbers for the past decade, with approximately 1,800 CME providers offering nearly 163,000 educational activities last year, including over 1 million hours of instruction and 28 million clinician interactions.
