Dr. Bochatay Simpson conducts qualitative and applied research in health professions education focused on the role of social identities in interprofessional collaboration, teamwork, communication, and clinical learning environments. Drawing on sociological perspectives and qualitative methods, her research examines the social processes that shape learning, professional identity formation, and care delivery in healthcare settings.
She co-leads the Health Professions Education Pathway and collaborates with educators, clinicians, and researchers on educational and research initiatives in simulation-based education, conflict management, and speaking up in healthcare teams
