These rankings are possible because the UCSF community is driven by our PRIDE Values. PRIDE stands for Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence. These are important core values for everyone who learns, teaches, works, and discovers at UCSF.
Our PRIDE Values make UCSF’s learning environment a collaborative space where we each draw on the perspectives that are shaped by our backgrounds and experiences while working together in pursuit of our shared goal of advancing health worldwide.
Motivated by a commitment to our communities
As a public institution, we are proud of our long-standing commitment to community service and promoting health equity and providing excellent health care for underserved populations. Our medical students are passionate advocates for social justice, and they have spurred changes that have improved health and health care equity throughout California and nationwide.
UCSF provides medical students the Bridges Curriculum, an award-winning and ever-evolving curriculum that values student input. Currently, medical students and faculty are partnering to redesign the Bridges Curriculum to become more anti-oppressive. The innovative Bridges Curriculum encourages a healthy work-life balance and allows medical students the flexibility to craft their own academic journey and career path.
