Discover how you can convert 2D vector images into printable 3D models in this second installment of our "Intro to Vector Art" series. We will be revisiting Inkscape, a free and open-source vector graphics software, and utilizing its tools to create SVGs that can then be imported into existing 3D designs. After attending this 60-minute pop-up you will be able to: Identify applications for 3D printing using vector graphics Learn how to simplify profiles for 3D printing using common vector design tools Export SVGs into Tinkercad for 3D printing/modeling What you will need: Download the latest version of the Inkscape software, available for free for Mac and PC. Sign up for a free Tinkercad account before the pop-up. A three-button mouse is recommended, but not required. Register on the UCSF Library events calendar to receive the Zoom link and password.
