Describe current strategies for identifying patients with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) at high risk of metastasis, including the strengths and limitations of existing staging systems. 2. Understand how population-based datasets and nested case–control study designs can be used to develop and validate risk prediction models for rare outcomes such as metastatic cSCC. 3. Compare traditional staging approaches with absolute risk prediction models and discuss how clinicopathological and gene-expression biomarkers can be integrated to improve risk stratification and personalized patient management.
