MarinHealth Introduction to Qigong for Survivors of Cancer and Chronic Illness + Caregivers
QiGong is a traditional Chinese healing system, similar to Tai Chi. According to the NCCIH, "it involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being. QiGong has both psychological and physical components and involves the regulation of the mind, breath, and body's movement and posture." In clinical trials, it has been shown to improve balance in participants.
This class focuses on improving health and well-being and is appropriate for people experiencing cancer and chronic conditions. The class accommodates people with movement restrictions or even chair-based practitioners.
*UCSF cancer patients and their caregivers are welcome to attend this weekly free online class, held every Wednesday from 2:30 - 3:30 pm.
