Tester, MD MPH Pediatrician UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland   Planners expect learners to: 1. Identify the current screening recommendations for hyperlipidemia in children, including the concept of universal screening. 2. Describe and recommend key dietary recommendations to families with a child that has elevated LDL-cholesterol and/or serum triglycerides. 3. Utilize basic criteria that warrant consideration of medical therapy for dyslipidemia and/or referral to a lipid specialist.   UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland is accredited by the California Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.   For CME credit, online evaluations must be completed by 12pm on the Friday after Grand Rounds.  Requests for the link to the current evaluation must be sent to Cristina.Fernandez@ucsf.edu by NOON on the day of Grand Rounds.   ABP MOC PART 2 POINTS Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 1 MOC point in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
