When: May 8, 3 p.m. Reception to follow lecture. How to Attend: The event will be held in person in room HD-160 of the Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building on the Mission Bay campus. Linda Franck is the recipient of the 2024 Helen Nahm Research Lecture Award in honor of her outstanding contributions to nursing science and research. An esteemed alumna and professor in Family Health Care Nursing, Franck is the Jack and Elaine Koech Endowed Chair in Pediatric Nursing. Her influential career in interdisciplinary research focuses on enhancing hospital care for infants and children, and addressing acute and chronic illnesses in various settings.  Pioneering interventions for patient and family engagement, particularly in pain management and research, Franck also works to reduce health disparities for women at risk of preterm birth and improve care for preterm infants. Her recent research focuses on innovative strategies to improve family-centered care and enhance the partnership between families, communities and health care systems to ensure children receive optimal health care before, during and after hospitalization.
