3D Printing Part 3: 3D Printing from Medical Imaging

Join Makers Lab staff to start creating 3D printable models from CT scans. Note: this pop-up will focus on converting and 3D printing models of bone. Learn how 3D printing is helping to improve medical education, research, and patient education. We encourage attendees to use their own laptops and download the 3D Slicer software prior to the pop-up, available for free for Mac and Windows. A three-button mouse is recommended, but not required. De-identified DICOM files (CT scan) will be provided at the start of the pop-up. After attending the 90-minute pop-up you will be able to: Segment bone from a CT scan using a free medical image viewer Create a 3D surface rendering from a CT scan Prepare an STL file for 3D printing All Makers Lab pop-ups are open to the UCSF community.
