Use UCSF ChatGPT to improve PowerPoints
Follow the steps below to use feedback from UCSF ChatGPT Enterprise (ChatGPT) to improve the organization, clarity, and educational effectiveness of your PowerPoint slides and supporting resources. Please note that ChatGPT is currently unable to create and edit PowerPoint slides for you directly; you still need to use PowerPoint to create and edit your slides.
1. Upload your slides
ChatGPT cannot currently create slides for you based on your prompts, and the ChatGPT add-in for PowerPoint is currently unavailable for UCSF users. However, ChatGPT can analyze your uploaded PowerPoint (.pptx) file and give you feedback.
2. Ask ChatGPT for feedback
Ask ChatGPT for specific feedback about the PowerPoint you uploaded. Review ChatGPT’s feedback for accuracy and appropriateness. Here are examples of feedback you could ask for:
Feedback for improving organization and presentation flow:
- Align content with your learning objectives
- Adapt slides for different audiences
- Simplify complex or text-heavy slides
Feedback for enhancing learning:
- Improve clarity and learner understanding
- Add discussion questions, polls, or case-based activities
- Suggest active learning strategies for application and critical thinking
3. Revise your slides
- ChatGPT cannot reliably and comprehensively edit slides for you based on your prompts
- Use PowerPoint to revise your slides as needed, based on ChatGPT's feedback
4. Ask ChatGPT for supporting resources
Use ChatGPT to generate downloadable speaker notes and facilitator guides, assessments, and presentation handouts, study guides, and summaries as needed
