Shelene Stine, MD, MPH
Associate Professor
Dr. Stine is an internal medicine physician and medical educator with experience in academic and safety net systems and a commitment to patient-centered and team-based care. She is an academic hospitalist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General where she also serves as Associate Director of Faculty Development in the Hospital Medicine Division. She holds several medical education leadership roles including as Head of Assessment and Clinical Transition for the UC Berkeley - UCSF Joint Medical Program and a member of the JMP executive leadership team. Shelene has supported redesign of the JMP curriculum and faculty development to promote learning in disability & anti-ableism, trauma-informed care, antiracism, community-engaged partnership and other key areas.
Prior to joining the JMP in 2018, Shelene was a hospitalist at Cornell Medicine/NYP, where she held multiple leadership roles including serving as the Associate Director for the Internal Medicine Clerkship. She attended medical school at Emory and completed her residency in Global Health Equity and Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She has also been a hospitalist and core faculty member for the Internal Medicine residency program at Highland Hospital.
