Celeste Allen, MD
Dr. Celeste Allen is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Primary Care. She is Director of Graduate Medical Education, Designated Institutional Official (responsible for the program’s compliance with ACGME Institutional Requirements), and Director of Pediatric Residency at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. She oversees the Fellowship Programs, visiting trainees from UCSF and other institutions, and the Undergraduate Medical Education Program, totaling over 800 trainees per year. In addition to clinical teaching and mentorship, Dr. Allen is focused on the development of curriculum and support for trainee wellbeing, providing leadership in ACGME Self Study/Accreditation and building GME infrastructure. Dr. Meg McNamara, director of the UCSF Pediatric Residency Training Program, said: “Dr. Allen serves as a role model for skilled, compassionate care and creating a positive learning environment.
