Why did you not put all in-person 1 week?
Have you thought about doing all of MS1 students' in-person classes all at once so we only need to come to the Bay area for 1-2 weeks, and then we can go back home?

Please understand there is no benefit to us to restrict your activities. We ask for your forbearance and appreciate your thoughtful suggestions. The challenge is that we have 160 people in a class. When we think about consolidating into one or two weeks, we would have too many people in the classrooms to meet COVID regulations. We hear you. We are deeply sorry that the pandemic and the response from the public health officials has required us to give you much less than you expected.
