When should students be concerned that they are not getting enough interviews? How do we gauge how many interviews we should be getting?
Answer
Review the 2020 NRMP Charting Outcomes the Match. Look for how many contiguous ranks you need to have to have an 80-90% match rate in your specialty, and aim to have that number of interviews by the second week of November.
Keep in mind that this year since the MSPE and ERAS are released at the same time, it is likely that programs will offer interviews quickly. We also recommend looking at the website of the programs that you are applying to, as some programs will post on their website when interview schedules are released.
