How is Bridges being moved to an anti-racist/anti-oppressive curriculum?

Answer

Social justice was an important consideration in the development of the Bridges curriculum including Differences Matter Orientation and H&I, H&S, DR blocks. In addition, we’re redesigning the Bridges Curriculum to have an even greater emphasis on anti-racism.

Below are the principles in redesigning the curriculum

  • Innovations driven by evidence and expertise
    • Internal and external
  • Elevating the status of social justice domains
    • Domains of understanding, curricular content
  • Grounding curriculum in our communities
    • UCSF 49 will be highlighted more
  • Centering learning on/with patients
    • Includes development over time of patient stories and narrative
