How is Bridges being moved to an anti-racist/anti-oppressive curriculum?
Answer
Social justice was an important consideration in the development of the Bridges curriculum including Differences Matter Orientation and H&I, H&S, DR blocks. In addition, we’re redesigning the Bridges Curriculum to have an even greater emphasis on anti-racism.
Below are the principles in redesigning the curriculum
- Innovations driven by evidence and expertise
- Internal and external
- Elevating the status of social justice domains
- Domains of understanding, curricular content
- Grounding curriculum in our communities
- UCSF 49 will be highlighted more
- Centering learning on/with patients
- Includes development over time of patient stories and narrative
