Plans to ensure students not pulled out of clinical envmt

Given cases of COVID-19 are rising and a surge could hit, what plans are in place to ensure we’re not pulled out of the clinical environment again?

Answer

As COVID has taught us we cannot predict everything and there is no absolute certainty, but we do have backup plans in place. If there is a resurgence as there likely will be, we will not be in the same place as we were in March. Surveillance is much better. We have a better opportunity to act from a prevention standpoint. We already know more about how the virus is transmitted, and that helps us better target interventions. Supply chains are not in the same place as they were early in March. Most medical facilities have PPE and we’re not in the dire situation we were early on in this pandemic. These factors will all mitigate the risk, even if there is a resurgence, that there will be as significant an impact on learners in the clinical environment.
