The SAPHIR program is an NIH-funded 11-month training program in HIV prevention research in Latin America for pre- and post-doctoral physician researchers from the U.S.

A maximum of $20,000 award per trainee research project may be available.

  1. Medical Students, Graduate Students
  2. All trainees are required to have completed their core clinical clerkships before starting the program.
  3. Anyone who has completed core clerkships at a U.S. medical school and has not yet begun Fellowship Training is eligible to apply.
