Palliative Medicine Summer Exploration Research Program

Purpose
The UCSF Division of Palliative Medicine (DPM) is pleased to continue offer a fully funded 8-week summer program for interested students to explore the field of palliative care by working on a mentored scholarly project.

As a division, we are deeply invested in contributing to the palliative medicine workforce and mentoring future potential palliative care physicians who are committed to serving our patient populations. This summer program offers an opportunity for broad exposure to the field of palliative medicine and closely mentored participation in meaningful scholarly work for professional development and to advance the field. The scholarly projects often result in a poster submission and/or an opportunity to work on a manuscript for submission to a peer reviewed journal for publication.

The program also includes opportunities to spend time with the mentor and/or other DPM faculty and interdisciplinary team members in clinical settings and attend division-wide educational events.
