The Dell Medical School Value-based Care Research Fellowship Award

Purpose
The Dell Medical School Value-Based Care Delivery Research Award promotes applied healthcare delivery science research by giving extraordinary medical students an opportunity to investigate topics relevant to designing, implementing, and disseminating value-based care delivery models. The awardee will have the opportunity to work directly with several leaders in healthcare delivery innovation.
Details

The recipient of this award will receive a $28,000 stipend to cover living expenses for the year, as well as additional allowance to cover relocation expenses and travel for select national presentations/conferences.

Requirements
  1. The applicant must be accepted to or enrolled in medical school at the time of application.
  2. Prior experience with carrying out research projects through publication, core research-related competencies (i.e., strong critical thinking skills, strong written/verbal communication, making presentations, SAS/SPSS data analysis experience), and having a demonstrated interested in value-based care is a plus.
  3. Work with DMS Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care faculty.
  4. Shadow Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care faculty in clinical activities.
  5. Help to prepare research-related presentations and publications.
  6. Support Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care strategic initiatives.
