Center for Community Engagement Service Learning Grant
CCE grants are selected via the annual Summer Explore process in March/April. If awarded, packages include:
- Award: $4,500 (CURRENTLY SUSPENDED FOR 2024)
- Participation in Summer Explore Symposium in December.
- Eligibility for Short-Term Dean's Prize.
$4,500 stipend. For those applying to community based projects, CCE has generously offered to compensate your community partners up to the same level of your stipend. This is to honor their time and commitment for the partnership.

Students, residents, post docs and fellows with a UCSF-affiliated faculty member as a mentor.

Eligible community partners include government agencies such as a department of public health, school district, as well as individual schools, and non-profits with 501(c)3 or 170(c) tax-exempt IRS status including: health, social service, and other community-based organizations; faith-based organizations; primary and secondary schools; voluntary associations, civic and citizen groups.

Recipients must submit a final report to the Center for Community Engagement Service Learning and Grants Programs Workgroups.

Project must be carried out full-time and continuously throughout the 8-week summer session.

Must select a UCSF mentor/sponsor AND a community mentor/sponsor.
This is a UCSF Funding Source dispersed by the Inquiry Funding Office.
