Hie supervises the Laboratory of Evolutionary Design, which conducts research at the intersection of biology and machine learning. The mission of the Laboratory of Evolutionary Design is to ensure that the AI revolution in biology occurs in a way that benefits humanity. They aim to design biology that counteracts evolving threats and accomplishes useful new functions. Hie was previously a Stanford science fellow in the Stanford University School of Medicine and a visiting researcher at Meta AI. He completed his PhD at MIT CSAIL and was an undergraduate at Stanford University. He also previously worked at Google X, Illumina, and Salesforce. The Convergence Seminar is organized by Gladstone’s Institute for Data Science and Biotechnology. This seminar series brings together scientists from varying disciplines to solve complex scientific questions and accelerate the path to cures. 1650 Owens Street Gladstone Institutes , Mahley Auditorium San Francisco, CA 94158 United States View on Map [email protected] America/Los_Angeles public
