Ever wonder how long you need to keep grant information, a job applicant resume or the files left behind by your predecessor? Do you often go “Outlookin’” for a file? Come to Records and Information Management Basics to find out and learn more. This class provides an introduction to Records and Information Management at UCSF.  It covers what is and is not a record.  Why managing the lifecycle of records and information is important and how long to keep records and information.   An overview of methods for storing and, when the time comes, disposing of records and information will be covered. This class will be offered online via Zoom. Connection information will be sent a week in advance. Class Instructors Brenda Gee – Administrative Director – Communications, Records, and Policy in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. Brenda is responsible for the development and management of the UCSF Records and Information Management Program. Implementation includes providing advice, information, and training, regarding records management. Carolyn Tuft – Sr Project Manager – Real Estate Carolyn Tuft is a Sr Project Manager on the Real Estate team. Her focus is records and information management.  She works with teams moving to open plan workspaces to help them reduce their paper records while insuring records and information are accessible when needed and managed in a compliant manner.  UCSF Library ariel.deardorff@ucsf.edu America/Los_Angeles public

Class Instructors
