Review important pre-conception guidance for optimal health in pregnancy and childbirth. 2. Discuss the more common maternal conditions in pregnancy and their influence on fetal, neonatal and long-term childhood health. 3. Explore the more common fetal conditions in pregnancy which may be encountered by the primary care pediatrician, such as renal, CNS and respiratory complications, the follow up and long-term outcomes.   UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland is accredited by the California Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
