Jordan Virbalas, MD

Associate Professor

Jordan Virbalas, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Pediatric Otolaryngology subspecialty in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) at the University of California, San Francisco. He began his career as a first grade teacher and Teach For America Corps Member in New York City’s South Bronx. At that time, he received his Masters in Teaching at Pace University School of Education, in New York, New York. He then began his career in medicine, obtaining his medical degree from Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York, New York. Dr. Virbalas finished both his internship and otolaryngology – head and neck surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York, followed by a Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.

Pediatric Otolaryngology

Expertise:
Voice and swallowing disorders, airway stenosis, congenital anomalies of the head and neck, obstructive sleep apnea, management of sinus disease

Research Interests:
Optimal diagnosis and management of pediatric swallowing disorders; optimal surgical management of pediatric airway stenosis.
