Jennifer Ly, PhD
Associate Professor
Dr. Jennifer Ly is an Associate Clinical Professor and Attending Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DPBS). In the Hyperactivity, Attention, and Learning Problems (HALP) Clinic, she assesses children, adolescents, and young adults for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and depression. She consults with schools and provides behavioral treatments, including individual parent management training, group skills training, and family therapy. In the Muses Program for Minoritized Youth, Dr. Ly provides cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral (TF-CBT), and supportive therapy to youth (ages 8-20), parenting support, and school consultation.
As the DPBS Health Equity Champion, Dr. Ly developed a five-part Interpreter Services Training series to strengthen provider skills in partnering effectively with interpreters and to improve access to care for patients with limited English proficiency. She was elected to the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators in 2025 and received its Excellence in Teaching Award in 2023. In 2025, she also received the UCSF Patient Experience Award for her contributions to clinical education, patient care, and program development.
