Health Benefits and Insurance

UCSF provides residents and clinical fellows a rich package of health and welfare benefits at a good value. These plans are different than those offered to faculty and staff. Plans include health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.

Retirement Savings Programs

Residents and clinical fellows are automatically enrolled in the Safe Harbor Defined Contribution Plan. Pre-tax contributions to 403(b) or 457(b) plans are optional.

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP)

FSAP provides confidential employee assistance services at no cost to UCSF faculty, staff, post-docs, residents, and clinical fellows. These services include assessment, counseling, and referral services for a broad range of personal and work-related issues.

Fertility Benefits 

Residents and fellows who have insurance through the UC Resident and Fellow plans have access to family-building and fertility benefits through Carrot.
