Exploring Nature and Health
Participants will gain skills to integrate nature into their clinical practice through this hands-on, skills oriented training. And outside time is included! Participants will gain a greater understanding of: The state of the literature on nature in public health and clinical medicine. The theoretical applications of nature to trauma for individuals and communities. The role of nature in childhood development, pediatric mental health. and in a life trajectory. The distribution of greenspace in the East Bay and grassroots local environmental justice and greening leaders. Concrete tools to run a nature clinic and to engage in meaningful conversations with patients on getting to nature for personal health. Potential partners in engaging your patients in nature, ranging from parks departments to non-profits.
