Department of Medicine Grand Rounds
The medical literature shapes clinical decision-making, but not all published findings carry the same weight. This Grand Rounds will examine how studies move through the peer review and publication process and how clinicians can critically assess the evidence behind published claims. Dr. Eric Rubin, editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, will highlight practical tools for evaluating study design, bias, and strength of evidence, helping clinicians interpret research more confidently and apply findings thoughtfully in practice.
Speaker:
Eric Rubin, MD, PhD, is the editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine and NEJM Group. He is an adjunct professor of immunology and infectious diseases and a tuberculosis researcher at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an associate physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Rubin is a member of the American Academy of Microbiology, the American Association of Physicians, and the National Academy of Medicine.
