Announcing Innovations Funding Grants for Education Awarded for 2025-2026
The Academy of Medical Educators was founded in 2000 to support the people who carry out and advance the educational mission of UCSF. The vision is to be an organizational culture that values educators and accelerates teaching and learning to improve health with the values of community, opprtunity, advocacy, service, and innovation.
The Innovations Funding in Education program is one of the most impactful Academy programs designed to support junior faculty across UCSF to engage in curricular innovation and scholarship:
- In the last five years alone, >$1,559,000 went to 85 projects with 79 unique principal investigators (PI). Almost all the PIs were junior faculty, with mentorship from more senior Academy educators.
- The junior faculty were from 23 different departments across the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry.
- The priorities for types of projects are set every year so the program can be flexible and meet the current needs of health professions education at UCSF.
