Innovations Funding

The Academy's Innovations Funding program supports faculty who research, create and implement new ways of teaching complex diagnostic and treatment skills that will advance the quality of health care. The program supports development of new curricular elements, focused faculty development undertakings, comparison of pedagogical approaches, and innovative approaches to learner assessment. Open to all faculty, these intramural grants serve as a catalyst for the development of curriculum that addresses the constantly changing ways in which physicians practice medicine.

Innovations Funding projects are typically funded for one year, with the expectation that, if successful, the curricular innovation will be sustained in some other fashion. Since the program's inception, the Academy has awarded more than $2 million to over 100 projects, many of which have been disseminated in some form of educational scholarship. Click here to view funded projects from 2001 to 2013; projects funded from 2014 to the present are listed in our forums in Open Proposals.
