Lawrence Haber, MD
Associate Professor; School of Medicine Coach
Dr. Lawrence Haber is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF. After graduating from Columbia University, Dr. Haber earned a medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed internal medicine residency training in General Medicine/ Primary Care at UCSF. Directly after residency, he spent time working as a generalist on the Navajo Reservation for the Indian Health Services. Returning to the Bay Area, Dr. Haber completed an academic hospital medicine fellowship at UCSF.
Dr. Haber is currently a safety-net hospitalist at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center where he is the Director of the Medicine Consult and Comanagement Service and Director of Faculty Development for the Division of Hospital Medicine. For the UCSF School of Medicine, Dr. Haber formerly co-directed the Intersessions Course, and currently acts as a Bridges Coach and a Confidential Career Advisor for students interested in Internal Medicine. His interests include clinical care for vulnerable patient populations, addressing health disparities for hospitalized patients with a focus on those experiencing incarceration, medical student mentoring and clinical skills acquisition, faculty development, and peer to peer feedback.
