ChatGPT Enterprise Essentials

Overview

ChatGPT Enterprise is UCSF's private and secure generative AI platform. You can use it responsibly with internal, sensitive, and restricted UCSF P1-P4 data. It is provided in collaboration with OpenAI, but your chats and data will not be accessed or used by OpenAI or UCSF. For support, please email [email protected] and for more info, see IT’s ChatGPT FAQs.

ChatGPT Core benefits

  • Writer: Use UCSF ChatGPT Enterprise to generate, summarize, and edit text. Or, summarize and edit online or uploaded content. For example, faculty can write assessment questions, students can summarize articles, and staff can summarize Zoom meeting transcripts.

  • Thinker: Use it as a thought partner to iteratively explore, organize, and refine your ideas. For example, faculty can get assessment feedback suggestions, students can explore project ideas, and staff can discover how to use UCSF apps more effectively.

  • Searcher: Use it instead of a search engine to quickly get specific questions answered, without having to evaluate search results. For example, faculty can get info about upcoming conferences, students can get helpful context during in-person didactics, and staff can get info needed to complete projects.

ChatGPT limitations

For security, your UCSF ChatGPT Enterprise chats self-delete after 90 days, and some features (i.e., image generation, Deep Research, and Voice mode) have periodic usage limitations. Also, generative AI platforms can be biased and convincingly inaccurate, so always verify outputs before using them.
