Associate Clinical Professor

Dr. Leticia Rolon is an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Francisco and board-certified nephrologist who treats patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She cares for patients in the outpatient nephrology clinic with the goal to treat and prevent kidney diseases from progressing to end stage renal disease. In the inpatient setting, she oversees the nephrology consult service both in the intensive care unit and the wards. Finally, she also cares for patients that need renal replacement therapies, either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, at outpatient dialysis centers.

Dr. Rolon earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. During her undergraduate career at UCLA, she was a Regents Scholar, one of the highest honors conferred on students in the UC system. Upon graduation from medical school, she then completed both residency training in internal medicine and nephrology fellowship at UCSF.

Upon joining the faculty at UCSF, she was selected as a John A. Watson Faculty Scholar. She has a passion for medical education, and works on curriculum development and implementation as Assistant Director for the Renal, Endocrine, GI and Nutrition course in the UCSF Bridges curriculum, as well as Associate Director for the UCSF-San Joaquin Valley PRIME curriculum. She also works with the UCSF Residency Diversity Committee and volunteers with UCSF medical students in several student-run free clinics for underserved communities in the city of San Francisco. She is the faculty advisor for the UCSF School of Medicine Latinx Medical Student Association and Medical Spanish course.
