GME Educational Opportunities
There are numerous resources for learning and development in the UCSF School of Medicine for residents, clinical fellows, faculty and program administration.
Teaching Skills Workshops
The Academy of Medical Educators (AME) and the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) hold a bi-annual Teaching Skills Workshop for residents and clinical fellows. These workshops are an excellent way for residents and clinical fellows to receive practical teaching skills that can be used in their daily practice.
Topics that have been covered include:
- Creating a Positive Learning Climate
- Teaching Microskills (using the one minute preceptor)
- Teaching Procedures
- Providing Effective Feedback
- Small Group Teaching
- Developing Team Leadership Skills
- Effective Teaching for Consultants
UCSF New Resident and Clinical Fellow Orientation
