Introductory Training on Forensic Evaluations of Asylum Seekers

The UCSF Department of Psychiatry, UCSF Department of Pediatrics, and UCSF Center for Vulnerable Populations are sponsoring a one-day training for health care professionals who want to learn how to provide forensic mental health and/or medical evaluations for asylum seekers.

This multi-disciplinary training will be led by facilitators from the UCSF Trauma Recovery Center, UC Hastings Center for Gender & Refugee Studies, UCSF Department of Pediatrics, UCSF Department of Medicine, and ZSFG Richard Fine People’s Clinic. It will provide an introduction to asylum law, the role of evaluators, forensic assessments, physical examinations, and writing forensic reports.

This free training is open to the community. Though it is primarily targeted at clinical providers, all are welcome to participate.
