Howard Rubin, MD, Director, Psychiatrist
Dr. Rubin obtained his undergraduate degree from Yale in English, and his MD degree from Mount Sinai. After completing a psychiatry residency at NYU, he pursued fellowship training in clinical psychopharmacology and was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. Dr. Rubin is also a writer, having obtained a master’s degree in fine arts in creative writing from San Francisco State. Most recently, he has been working with UCSF psychiatry residents and the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Dr. Rubin will be available in the Medical Student Well-being Program office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Vittorio Comelli, PsyD, Assistant Director, Psychologist
Dr. Comelli received his doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology. He completed his pre-doctoral training at California Pacific Medical Center Adult Outpatient Psychiatry and his post-doctoral clinical health psychology fellowship at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in hematology and oncology. Dr. Comelli specializes in working with oncology patients, the chronically medically ill, and serves as a consultation-liaison to medical and nursing staff. He comes from a diverse cultural background, is fluent in three languages, and is versed in working in a multicultural environment. He has clinical expertise working with young adults in medical settings both individually and in groups. Dr. Comelli has a private practice in San Francisco working with adults and children. He also supervises residents and interns.
