PRIME-US Students Teach Health to Oakland Youth Through Photos

This summer UCSF PRIME-US students Sidra Bonner and Fabiola Molina created a Photovoice project involving youth from Civicorp, an Oakland-based non-profit job taining program. With funding from PRIME-US, the medical students were able to give cameras to the youth and ask them to take photos of the things in their neighborhood that they felt affected their health, both good and bad. These photos are a way to bring to life issues of community health and empower the youth to be able to address those issues. Follow the link below to view a video, read more about the project.
