Dates of Attendance

Dates of attendance must correspond with the School of Medicine's electives calendar.

Special Instructions

  • These required documents may be uploaded to VSAS, emailed, or mailed to Doris Masferrer at the address noted above unless otherwise specified:
  1. A recommendation letter from a pediatric faculty member that you interacted with during your pediatric clerkship
  2. A copy of your pediatric clerkship evaluation
  3. USMLE Step 1 scores - please upload to VSAS (COMLEX scores cannot be used in lieu of USMLE)
  • Please do not directly contact individual course directors; all correspondence and inquiries must go through the Student Programs Office (contact info above)

Canadian Applicants

  • Please email or mail the following required documents to Doris Masferrer at the address noted above
    1. Application Form for Canadian Medical Students found on this page
    2. A letter of recommendation from a pediatric faculty member that you interacted with during your pediatric clerkship
    3. A copy of your pediatric clerkship evaluation
    4. USMLE Step 1 scores
    5. Copy of your CV
    6. School transcript
    7. Visiting Student Disclosure Consent Form found on this page

Additional Information

  • Department policy allows one missed day for interviews, with prior permission from faculty member in charge of elective.
  • To check if additional documents have been uploaded to VSAS or withdrawals have been submitted, please email Doris Masferrer.
  • Often times your home school will note that a mask fit test is not available. It is a UCSF requirement, so make sure you have one (N95) and your institution is aware of it.
