Overview

The UCSF Office of CME strives to scaffold professional development toward excellence in teaching, learning and patient care. To that end, we can provide the infrastructure, experience and support to design and deliver the excellent quality of lifelong learning and quality improvement for which UCSF is known throughout its continuum of health professions education.

UCSF CME is situated in the School of Medicine, however, we offer a number of services to all of UCSF: all of the professional schools, clinical departments, organized research units, information technology units, the medical center and children’s hospitals and affiliated organizations.

Accreditation

UCSF School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education to physicians. Each year our program certifies over 200 programs and issues over 4,000 credits to 20,000 learners. We provide direct consultation to ensure your educational activity meets the highest level of ACCME compliance. Your program will receive direct support in the design of course material, establishment of educational objectives and design of comprehensive evaluation instruments. We offer accreditation for the following types of educational offerings:

Registration

Our registration services use the latest technological capabilities to ensure a streamlined experience for your conference attendees. We offer registration plans that incorporate convenient advance registration, and four options for revenue collection (On-line, Mail, Fax, Telephone) via cash, checks, visa, mastercard, american express, wire transfers and intercampus transfers. We provide educational grants management and same day fund distribution for commercial support revenue as requested. All UCSF sponsored courses receive guaranteed promotional posting on our website. We retain records for six years and will provide registrant mailing labels and duplicate receipts / certificates upon receipt. Your registration packet will include:

  • Colored Name Badges (Registrants / Exhibitors / Speakers)
  • Check-in, Sign-in, Session Rosters
  • Statistical and Demographic Reports

Conference Services / Event Planning

The Office of CME event planning team offers individual program support for over 50 live diverse educational activities annually. Our highly skilled planners will work with your program to identify and secure the most suitable conference venue. Our event planning team will work collaboratively with conference faculty organizers to build an effective meeting schedule, a successful marketing strategy, detailed meeting budget and a comprehensive evaluation plan. We offer limited services for CME activities such as brochures, eBlasts and websites.

Services are included for all OCME-planned conferences and available to other departments on a fee basis.

Online Learning/Enduring Materials

UCSF CME is able to facilitate your next on-demand course. We work with a number of internal and external service providers who record, edit, market, host programs online and distribute physical media, when necessary.
