Dan Lowenstein Elected to National Academy of Medicine

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) announced its newly elected members at their annual meeting today, which includes two UCSF faculty members.

Daniel Lowenstein, MD, UCSF Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and the Robert B. and Ellinor Aird Professor of Neurology. Dr. Lowenstein has been a member of the Academy of Medical Educators since 2003 and instrumental to the Academy's founding. In addition to Dr. Lowenstein, Rita Redberg, MD, MS, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology, was also elected to membership, raising the UCSF representation in the NAM to a total of 85 members.
