Medical Education

Celebrating Susan Masters, PhD

May 31, 2017

Susan Masters, PhD, UCSF’s Associate Dean for Curriculum, retired this month. For thirty years on the faculty at UCSF, Susan’s leadership and innovation was instrumental to the development and implementation of the medical school’s Bridges Curriculum.  As one of the earliest full-time basic science educators, Susan has taught a generation of UCSF professional students basic pharmacology.  She was a lead architect of the 2001 MD Essential Core Curriculum and led the Essential Core Life Cycle course for ten years.

Thank you, Dr. Masters, for your spirited energy, dedicated mentoring of medical students, ability to rally bright, bold ideas among us, and your vision to help transform medical education at UCSF! Read an interview with Susan here.
