Dr. Anna Chang is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics, Department of Medicine. She is a teacher, a clinician, and a leader of educational and clinical programs. Dr. Chang directs the Foundations of Patient Care clinical skills course for first and second year medical students. Dr. Chang is board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. She cares for older adults in the hospital, skilled nursing, long term care, and hospice settings. Her clinical work is currently at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. One of Dr. Chang's academic area of focus for scholarship is in medical education. As part of her academic focus, her work has included exploration of clinical skills learning and remediation, early identification of medical students with learning needs, self-directed learning goals, and entrustable professional activities in the setting of the patient centered medical home. She is now exploring innovations that integrate medical education, systems based practice, the use of portfolios, inter professional team learning, and providing quality and safe care for older adult patients.
